I was born in Seattle, Washington, and attended Seahurst Elementary Schools until the 3rd grade when our family moved to Holland for three years.  In Holland I attended Theo Tijssen School, and was able to learn Dutch before returning to the US just in time for 6th Grade.  In the US, I attended Sylvester Middle School and Highline High School until my graduation in 1991.  After graduation I toured the US a bit, and then headed off to Washington State University to pursue my CS and MBA degrees.
During this period, I found time for numerous short excursions and adventures, including a six week tour of Europe, a separate six month Tour of Europe, a two week tour of Maui, a 600 mile mountain-bike ride along the Oregon coast to California,  a 100-mile 9-day hike around Mt. Rainier's Wonderland Trail, a 600 Km mountain bike adventure in Belgium, a trip to lake Tahoe with my dad, an end-all Rubicon Adventure with my dad and friend Michael Kuperstein, and several other mountain bike, hiking, and 4x4 excursions.
While studying for my degrees, I would initially live in Coman Hall, but would soon move to La Maison Française where I would become a near permanent fixture until my graduation in 1998.
After graduation from Washington State University, I moved briefly to Huntsville, AL to work for Netran Interactive Commerce as their Director of Operations.  During this time I found time to explore The South and went on a few more 4x4 excursions.
A little over two years later, I would pack up my things and move back to Seattle, to start a new career and further develop my photography and business skills through Escapia and TybeeCottages.
